Cost Savings
UTC helps reduce emptying costs by up to 90% by streamlining waste collection and reducing overflowing bins — with a payback time of as little as one year, it offers a rapid return on investment.
Collection containers hidden below the street on a hydraulic lift — only a stainless-steel throw-in column shows on the surface. Built for old towns and tight spaces where collection vehicles struggle to reach.
Hydraulic Lift · Below Ground
The best solution for tight spaces. In old towns where emptying vehicles have no room to drive in, UTC hydraulic systems make clean collection possible.
The infrastructure is gently lowered from the surface into the ground. Conventional collection containers sit on a hydraulically driven auto-hoist and can be emptied with a conventional emptying vehicle.
The compact dimensions of all UTC models are ideal for:
Measurements suited to confined spaces — especially islands and areas with limited room for waste infrastructure.
Only stainless-steel outlets show on the surface — blending into any environment and reducing clutter in public spaces.
A hydraulic-lift container system lets municipalities set up underground storage without connecting to mains or other utilities.
Containers stay hidden for residents' comfort, and emptying takes up to just 2 minutes for collection crews.
Lower collection costs, cleaner public spaces and lower lifecycle costs — the numbers behind the UTC Smart Bin.
UTC helps reduce emptying costs by up to 90% by streamlining waste collection and reducing overflowing bins — with a payback time of as little as one year, it offers a rapid return on investment.
The UTC Smart Bin promotes cleanliness and creates a safer, more pleasant environment — transforming urban spaces and promoting sustainable waste-management practices.
Efficient collection routes mean fewer collection trips and up to 90% lower CO₂ emissions from transportation. 95% of the materials used in UTC Smart Bins are recyclable.
UTC Smart Bins streamline emptying of 120L and 240L wheelie bins, minimising manual-handling risks for waste-collection personnel.
Built to last with high-quality materials, and quick (10-minute) panel replacement on site keeps lifecycle costs low and efficiency high.
Built from carefully chosen materials, these underground bins stand up to the elements. The weather-resistant design protects the system from rain, wind and sun — extending its lifespan and keeping waste management reliable even in challenging conditions.
New Product
The lift system is raised out of the concrete element and controlled — depending on the product — through a control bulb or an operation panel.
The hydraulic aggregate is located directly in the concrete element. If the throw-in column includes a power supply, the control bulb is placed in the back of the throw-in column.
If the lift is operated through an external hydraulic system — for example the garbage truck's system — the hydraulic connection is also placed in the back of the throw-in column.
The hydraulic aggregate of the UGD-02, 03, 04 and 05 series is placed in a separate secondary shaft beside the lift system, connected to the lift cylinders through hydraulic pipes.
The lift is operated with a control bulb lowered into the secondary shaft, or a fixed control column (with keylock). If the lift runs on an external hydraulic system — such as the garbage truck's — the hydraulic connection is placed in the back of the throw-in column.
Containers rise from below the street, get emptied by a standard vehicle and disappear again — in about two minutes.
